When Jesus was asked for the greatest commandment, He summarized everything into the simple, yet powerful statement of “love God and love others”. Later we encounter the questions: When did we feed You… give You drink… welcome You… clothed You… visit You…? To which He responded: “as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
At IVA Christian School, community service hours are more than a state requirement in order to qualify for college and scholarships. Community service is a way of life were we get to love and serve others. Our goal is to develop young men and women who will positively influence their community in service for others. The result of this experience should be a growing awareness of the needs of others, greater compassion in helping them. We pray that the personal, moral, and spiritual growth of the student will be a byproduct of living a life for others that will go well beyond their high school years.
